Today we took a walk. With a toddler this is really more like a very slow stroll at best broken up by many wide eyed discoveries along the way. Evie just loves leaves. She picks them up one by one and carries them with her everywhere she goes. Sometimes they are big and sometimes they are small but always they are her treasure.
When I married her daddy all I wanted was a huge collection of maple leaves at every open spot I could find. I wanted them on the floor, the tables and all the display areas. I love the color they turn as the temperature turns crisp the leaves glow in my part of the world and that beauty was what I felt when I fell in love.
Watching my daughter have the same love for this season and the falling leaves makes me sure that we are connected in more ways than just Mama and Baby. She sees what I see in the world. That I am thankful for.
I hope that this view holds true for her in her life. I hope she continues to see beauty in unexpected places...like a fallen leaf.
