Rearranging the living room when I need to rearrange my life...

In the last three months I've rearranged our living room at least 5 times.  Still it's a mish mash of furniture and baby toys.  I keep trying to find my "dream cottage" amidst all the bits and pieces of  left over furniture from others throw aways.

I have yellow walls, brown and white and green and blue furniture, the ugliest stained carpet and enough baby toys and accessories to open a home daycare.  Oh...did I mention a cat and dog that are permanent fixtures also.  This room has never been what I really wanted but lately it just seems like a dumping ground.

I brought home another hand me down bit from my parents house last week thinking it was going to be the perfect thing to tie some of the clutter together and now it just seems like another miss.

I think I'm in a funk design wise.  Our little condo has great lines and some potential...I just don't see it anymore. It's turned into the place I love to hate.

We have a wall of windows, which typically would be every girls dream but ours looks out onto a dingy parking lot that drug dealers and prostitutes call home.  The complex has been totally affected by the housing market crises and as the building deteriorate so do our property values.  Three of my neighbors are in forclosure, two have just left their units empty and the rest that never sold continue to sit vacant.

So this leave us trying to figure out what to do next...and all I want is to have a safe comfortable place for my little sweet to grow up.  This is the rearrange my life section.  I think we need to leave.  We will loose our shorts on this place and I guess that is the cost we will pay for making sure our baby girl is happy and can be proud of where she is growing up.

I will probably move the furniture around again in the next few months but hopefully very soon it will be in a different home.

  1. I will pray for you and Ron. Hopefully, you can move in the next few months:). I don't think you give yourself enough credit, though. You have GREAT style! Evie's room is gorgeous:). I am sure your living room is wonderful, too. Mismatched pieces are very cottage:)!
