Pumpkins!!!!

I love pumpkins!  Big ones, small ones, perfect and not.  I love the color, the smell, the feel and the taste.  I am not sure there is anything about a pumpkin I don't like.

Last year we were living in a really unpleasant place.  I was miserable.  The neighbors were horrible and I was so unhappy.  The neighbors were awful and after Halloween (long after) these icky people carelessly thru there moldy disgusting rotten pumpkins over their balcony into the sad excuse of a planter.  At the time I was horrified.  I complained about it for days.  How yucky it looked, how gross it was going to be as they rotted.  I went on and on...really really annoyed anyone who would listen.

The thing about rotting produce with seeds...they often grow new beautiful pumpkins.  It was wonderful the following year to see the green vines begin to grow.  Then just when I thought nothing was going to happen...flowers.  Orange papery flowers.  I was gleeful as those flowers slowly turned into the cutest little green pumpkins.

From all of this "ish" came pure delight for me.  I watched them, oogled them daily and finally convinced Ron to go and get me one.  He picked the sweetest little green pumpkin and at 3 months old and barely sitting up Evie got her first pumpkin.

Today's pumpkin hunt was much different...but it still reminded me of the joy I find in pumpkins.  Evie seemed to like today's adventure better also.

Here are some of my favorite pics.  Enjoy!
