Evie Updates!

She is 7 and a half months old. Can you believe it! I can't and I live it daily. Evie is a very spirited little girl. She has an opinion about almost everything and a smile for everything else. She loves to laugh and giggle at the pup and mow mow (or luna to the rest of us). She says Hi now very clearly but doesn't really like to say it to people yet. It's more of a gift to our four legged friends. She is becoming quite the animal lover making my mom's house one of her favorite visits.

I go to a mom's group on Thursdays and until recently Evie has just stayed with me during our time together. However, the last few weeks I've been trying to leave her in childcare. I always get paged about half way thru because Evie is crying and can't be consoled. I've seen other children cry the whole time they are there and their parents don't get called so now I'm wondering if I wear a big sign on my head that says over "concerned parent, call immediately if child starts to squeak:)"

I'm sure I'm being over concerned about the whole thing but it would sure be nice if Evie could just hold out til the end of Mom's and Kids so I could have a proper break. But for now I guess I'm glad she's a mama's girl. Sometimes it even makes me smile when she cries out for me if I walk away or if she's being held by someone else and reaches for me.

I haven't left her many times and I'm thinking it's getting close to me needing a break but for now she and I are content in our day to day activities. Evie loves it when I vacuum because the dog goes crazy. He barks like a mad man and she squeals and jumps around in her excersaucer.

She's eating tons now too. Her list of foods has gotten so long it amazes even me. She eats: fish, chicken, potato, sweet potato, yam, carrot, broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, peas, beans, cantaloupe, apples, pear, rasberry (though I think this one is a no go for a while-skin break out) crackers and BREAD!!!! the child loves anything bread. Pancakes, white bread, wheat bread, cake...you get the picture. She loves her carbs. We will have to watch that as she gets older. But again...she is her mama's girl.

For now things are really good for her and for us. Life is full of daily gifts and I guess I'm just really grateful that I get to be Evalyn's mama. She teaches me so much about myself everyday and I can't wait to see what kind of "kid" she becomes.
